TOWN OF SEABROOK
Mosquito Control
The Mosquito Control program begins the week of April 11,2011 in the Town of Seabrook. Crews from Dragon Mosquito Control will be checking swamps, salt marshes, woodland pools, ditches, storm drains and other shallow, stagnant water for mosquito larvae. When mosquitoes are found, the following insecticides may be used:
VectoBac (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis)
Natular (spinosad)
Altosid (methoprene)
Abate (temephos)
Agnique MMF (poly-isooctadecyl-hydroxyl)
Mosquito Larvicide GB-1111 (aliphatic petroleum hydrocarbons)
BVA 2 Mosquito Larvicide Oil (highly refined petroleum distillate)
Control of adult mosquitoes may be done at the following locations in preparation for Old Home Days
Celebration in August or if Eastern Equine Encephalitis or West Nile Virus is found in or near
Seabrook:
Seabrook Elementary & Middle School
Community Center
Veterans Memorial Park
Governor Weare Park
Adult mosquito control will be accomplished using the following products:
Anvil (sumithrin)
Zenivex (etofenprox)
Permanone (permethrin)
Flit (permethrin)
Bifen liT (bifenthrin)
Wisdom TC Flowable (bifenthrin)
Cross Check Plus (bifenthrin)
Mavrik Perimeter (tau-fluvalinate)
Suspend SC (deltamethrin)
A truck mounted sprayer could also be used to disperse Anvil (sumithrin) or Zenivex (etofenprox) along roadways during a public health threat. It is not possible to predict if emergency spraying will be necessary. The spray schedule is based upon mosquito surveillance data, disease test results and weather conditions. Further communication will be given if emergency spraying is going to take place.
Residents who do not want their property treated must contact Dragon Mosquito Control in writing at P.O. Box 46, Stratham, NH 03885. Be sure to include your name, physical address, phone number, and a description of your property with boundaries. Residents who would like to have their stagnant water checked for mosquitoes can call 964-8400 or email Info@DragonMosquito.com. There is no charge for this service. Contact us for
